DURBAN: The date for the KwaZulu-Natal ANC provincial elective conference has been set after several delays.

The conference is scheduled to start on June 8 after the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC) gave it the green light.

Earlier this year, the party’s Secretary-General Ace Magashule announced that the provincial conference would be convened between March and April but ongoing challenges, including political infighting, led to its postponement.

ANC KZN has been plagued by allegations of branch manipulation and vote-rigging.

It was also reported that six disgruntled regions raised concerns after being left off the list for the original meeting and members clashed at some of the party’s branch meetings recently.
