JOHANNESBURG: Orlando Pirates have announced the departure of wing back Marc Van Heerden from the club after a short period with the Soweto giants.

The 30-year-old player joined the Buccaneers in 2017 from Chippa United and was tipped to be a great success for them but never spent much time on the pitch for the Ghost as he was reported to be unsettled at the Gauteng Province.

The former Bafana Bafana player survived a highjack last year in Johannesburg in the company of his wife, an incident which reportedly left the player angling for a move away from Gauteng in search of a move to a club in Cape Town, PE or Durban.

The defender may possibly be eyeing for a return to Chippa United where he enjoyed a successful stint which made him catch the eye of Orlando Pirates. Considering the healthy transfer dealings between the two clubs, the deal may just happen.

The club wished the University Of Pretoria product well for his future endeavors on their official website on announcing his departure.
