BLOEMFONTEIN: Bloemfontein Celtic chairman Max Tshabalala has confirmed the capture of former Kaizer Chiefs coach Steve Komphela as their new coach going into next season.
Komphela parted ways with Kaizer Chiefs towards the end of last season following an unsuccessful three years at Naturena. Tshabalala says Komphela meets their requirements of getting a reputable coach on announcing the news.
“Our strategy was to get a reputable local coach with immense pedigree who can take us to greater heights and in Steve we found an appropriate candidate.”
“Last season was complicated and we failed to achieve our goals, however, we have now acquired the services of someone passionate, hungry for success and willing to bring the excitement synonymous with Celtic supporters.
“He has the judgment, knowledge, and experience. He promotes the youth and has an exceptional eye for raw talent and that is exactly what we need as a team,” said Tshabalala on the club’s website.
Komphela comes to replace Veselin Jelusic who left the club at the end of his first season with them.
