LONDON: Despite winning the FA Cup last season, the Blues relieved Conte of his post, with Maurizio Sarri reportedly set to take over.
Chelsea recently parted ways with Antonio Conte after two seasons, and there were reportedly three reasons the Italian was sacked with one year remaining on his contract.
Despite winning the FA Cup last season, the Blues relieved Conte of his post, with Maurizio Sarri reportedly set to take over.
According to Sky Sports News, the 48-year-old was sacked for three reasons, the first of which was the role he played in Diego Costa’s exit.
It is believed that Conte sent a text message to Costa in June 2017, informing the Spain international he was no longer in his plans and he was later sold to Atletico Madrid.
The second reason was the breakdown of his relationships with various players in the squad over the past season.
Third, Sky Sports News claims Conte had a complete breakdown in communication with the Chelsea board, while the club also feels the manager’s behaviour breached the terms his contract.
