JOHANNESBURG: Zuma says they will use the match against City to end their preparations on a good note.

Kaizer Chiefs striker Dumisani Zuma says that they are ready to take part in their last pre-season match before the new season starts when they face fellow PSL side Cape Town City in the Mpumalanga Cultural Experience Cup.

Chiefs’ preparations for the 2018/2019 season are in full swing and they have already played in two friendly cups in the form of the Maize Cup which they won and the recent Shell Helix Cup which they lost to league Champions Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday. Zuma says they will use the match against City to end their preparations on a good note.

“We are happy to play in the match. It is important because we are playing against a good team in City. We have been doing well with the preparations and we are looking forward to Saturday. Who will be aiming to end the pre-season on a high note,” said Zuma to the club’s website.

Club football manager Bobby Motaung who was present at the launch of the friendly cup voiced his thoughts on the ongoing saga between Ajax Cape Town and the PSL. The saga has seen the two establishments drag each other to court and may see the commencement of the league being affected although the PSL released their fixtures for next season which doesn’t feature the Urban Warriors.

“It is an unpleasant situation that is happening with the PSL and Ajax and it may affect everyone else in the league. It may also affect teams like Kaizer Chiefs who will be competing in CAF competitions. We hope the matter can be settled soon once and for all before the new season starts,” expressed Motaung.

The Mpumalanga Cultural Experience Cup between Chiefs and City will take place at the Mbombela Stadium on Saturday with kickoff scheduled for 15h00.

Tickets for the match are available for R50 at Computicket and Shoprite/Checkers.
