South Africans Still In Shock After The Passing Of Pro Kid

JOHANNESBURG: The 37-year-old award winning Hip Hop artist family has asked for privacy in this grieving moments.

South Africans woke up to the sad news on the much celebrated day Women’s Day, with the passing of Linda Mkhize known by his stage name, Prokid. In a statement issued by the family, Mkhize suffered a severe Seizure while visiting his friend in Johannesburg CBD. 

The 37-year-old award winning hip-hop artist family has since asked for privacy in this grieving moments.

Pro was known for his lyrical genius in the hip-hop music scene as he contributed so much with his talent and good music.

He was well known for the songs like Uthini Ngo Pro, Dankie San and many more other hit singles he gave South Africans.

Meanwhile, the African National Congress (ANC) has sent its condolences to the family friends and colleagues of the late hip-hop star. 

The ANC’s Pule Mabe says: “The ANC mourns the passing of award-winning hip-hop artist Linda Mkhize. The African National Congress is shocked at the untimely passing of one of the most talented and celebrated artist, ever to emerge from South Africa.”

He has been described as an extraordinary rap artist who used his music to document South Africa’s township culture. His former colleague Sbusiso “DJ Sbu” Leope said he inspired many young artists and ordinary South Africans through his music.

Messages of condolences have been streaming in on social media from fans and those who worked with him in the hip-hop fraternity.
