JOHANNESBURG: Former NPA boss Mxolisi Nxasana says he feels bitter towards Jacob Zuma and has accused the former president of ruining his life.
Nxasana says, while he feels vindicated by the recent Constitutional Court ruling, his exit from office still leaves him a bitter man. He was speaking to a Johannesburg-based Talk Radio and told of how “Jiba, Mrwebi and the gang” went to Zuma to tarnish his name.
“I got information from reliable sources…they told him (Zuma) that I intend on reinstating corruption charges against him,” reveals Nxasana.
Delivering his ruling in the apex court, Justice Mbuyiseli Madlanga said the former president’s decision to terminate Nxasana’s employment as the National Director of Public Prosecutions (NDPP) was an abuse of power.
Nxasana was asked if he believes Zuma ruined his life, Nxasana says “yes, he definitely did”.
“I was approached, I didn’t apply for this (NPA) job. I was approached when I was happily practicing in Durban, running my own practice which I had built up with sweat and blood for a period exceeding 16 years.
“I am bitter because I had to give up my lifetime practice without getting a cent from it. The court says it feels sympathetic towards me, it’s using all the nice words but at the end of the day, I am the victim of all circumstances,” says Nxasana.
