JOHANNESBURG: Orlando Pirates will try and stop high flying Bidvest Wits when the two teams meet at the Orlando Stadium in their third 2018/19 Absa Premiership match on Wednesday night.

The Buccaneers have had a rocky start to the season where they were expected to start on a high considering how they ended last season. They drew 1-1 with PSL returnees Highlands Park at home and then went on to beat Chippa United 1-0 in their second league game to leave them on 5th place on the league log.

On the other hand, their opponents on the night Bidvest Wits have started the season on a good note, registering a 3-0 victory over Free State Stars followed by an inspiring 3-1 win over Kaizer Chiefs to sit on top of the Absa Premiership table.

The Clever Boys will go into the game being the fresher side as they did not qualify for the MTN top 8 which played on the weekend and Pirates were in action against SuperSport United where they lost 4-3 on penalties.

The last time the two sides met, the Buccaneers walked away 4-0 victors in a match that was played without any spectators. They have beaten each other seven times each and drew six matches in their last 20 meetings.

They will meet at the Orlando Stadium on Wednesday night, with the match scheduled to kick off at 19h30.
