JOHANNESBURG: Makgalwa joined Fadlu Davids’ side on a season-long loan deal in as part of the deal that saw Maritzburg sell their youngster Lebogang Maboe to the Brazilians.
Maritzburg United Loanee Keletso Makgalwa says he is determined to make the most of his time at the Team Of Choice before returning to his parent club Mamelodi Sundowns at the end of the season.
Makgalwa joined Fadlu Davids’ side on a season-long loan deal in as part of the deal that saw Maritzburg sell their youngster Lebogang Maboe to the Brazilians. He has already played in two of Maritzburg’s competitive matches against Free State Stats and Cape Town City which both resulted in losses for the KZN side.
“I’m hungry to showcase my talent so I have to work. It feels good. I came here to get game time and to work hard. I think against City we did play well even though we didn’t get the result,” said Makgalwa on the club’s website.
The 21-year-old attacking midfielder who was tipped to be the ideal candidate to replace Percy Tau revealed his readiness for their match against Kaizer Chiefs.
“We have to work harder, to work as a team. Now is the time to keep the team spirit and be together in this situation. We are looking forward to the game against Chiefs,” he added.
Sundowns youth academy product will hope he can get the nod from Fadlu Davids to start in their game against Amakhosi at the Harry Gwala Stadium on Friday night at 19h30 in their chase for their first win of the new season.
