POLOKWANE: The MTN8 final is the main attraction this weekend as far as local soccer is concerned, but there is some PSL action to look forward to ahead of the big clash.

The past weekend saw a change of the guard in the league standings after Bidvest Wits dropped all three points at home after being defeated by Polokwane City on Friday night.

The loss for the Students meant Orlando Pirates goes on top of the log, as they grabbed maximum points away to Baroka on Saturday.

Sunday’s action saw Bloemfontein Celtic suffer their first defeat of the season, as they handed Maritzburg United their maiden win in this campaign, while Supersport United thumped Black Leopards 4-0 at Lucas Moripe Stadium.

The defeat sees Lidoda Duvha occupying the bottom of the table, while the Team of Choice climbed up to 13th place.

The action continues on Wednesday night, with just one fixture scheduled for the day.
