JOHANNESBURG: The AA said that fuel prices moderated during the month of October with the prospect of some relief for petrol users.

Motorists might get some relief as the Automobile Association (AA) of South Africa expects a drop in the petrol price next month by around 16 cents a litre.

However, diesel and paraffin users are likely to have to cough up around 30 cents more per litre.

The AA said that fuel prices moderated during the month of October with the prospect of some relief for petrol users.

It is basing its figures on unaudited month-end fuel price data released by the Central Energy Fund.

The AA also said that international petrol prices have shown modest declines in the past month which could lead to the lowering of domestic prices.

If the rand continues its relative stability it could mean more relief before the festive season.
