JOHANNESBURG: Public Enterprises Minister Pravin Gordhan is the next official to take the seat before Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo.

The state capture inquiry has invited former Eskom CEO Brian Molefe to attend proceedings on Monday as he will be implicated in a testimony.

Public Enterprises Minister Pravin Gordhan is the next official to take the seat before Deputy Chief Justice Raymond Zondo commission which resumes in Parktown on Monday.

A notice from the state capture commission of enquiry has informed Molefe that evidence that will be presented by Gordhan will implicate him in unlawful and improper conduct with regards to nuclear energy during his time as Eskom CEO.

The papers indicate how Gordan will tell of Eskom’s willingness and commitment to participate in the nuclear build program despite the utility experiencing severe financial challenges.

According to Gordhan, this warranted Treasury which was headed by him at the time to appropriate R23 billion of funding to Eskom during the 2015/2016 financial year.

The commission has presented Molefe with the option of applying to give evidence himself call witnesses or cross exam witnesses within 12 days.
