Comedian Trevor Noah got a personal invite to the 2019 investment conference by the first citizen of the country
This comes after Noah paid Ramaphosa a visit at his Cape Town home – Tuynhuys – ahead of his oral reply to questions in the National Assembly on Thursday.
According to reports, the two discussed a wide range of issues, including Noah’s philanthropic work through the Trevor Noah Foundation in supporting orphans and young people with education and life skills.
In a video posted on Twitter by Ramaphosa, he extended an invite to the The Daily Show host to be part of this year’s investment conference set for October.
“This year I want you at our Investment conference, it is in October. We will have to craft it according to your diary. I really would love you to come. Last year we raised R290 billion, my target is to raise R1.4 trillion. This year I want a person like you in the mix. I am trying to get Elon Musk to come and build a factory. I want you to bring joy and pleasure,” says Ramaphosa.
In the video, Noah accepts the invite.
Thank you @TrevorNoah for making time to visit us this afternoon. Your rise to take over the world has been a marvel to watch and I hope you understand just how much we love and support you here at home. Please make sure you vote and I will see you at our investment conference! pic.twitter.com/VdhVj23SB2
